The combined pass rate stood at 85.95 per cent as the results of 2022’s Higher Secondary Certificate and equivalent examinations across the country were published on Wednesday.

The pass rate was declined by 9.31 per cent in 2022 as, in 2021, the rate was 95.26 per cent.

The education minister Dipu Moni, at a press briefing held at the International Mother Language Institute to publish the results, said that the decline in the results was caused by the increase in the number of subjects on which the examinations were held.

‘In 2021 the HSC and equivalent examinations were held on only three subjects; so the results were good,’ she said, adding, ‘In 2022 the examinations were held on 12 subjects; so the pass rate declined.’

A total of 1,76,282 examinees secured GPA 5.

The number of securing GPA 5 also declined this year as, in 2021, total 1,89,169 students secured GPA 5.

As per the results published on Wednesday, in 2022, out of 11,77,387 examinees, 10,11,987 passed the exams.

Under nine general boards out of a total of 9,69,338 examinees 8,17,230 or 84.31 per cent passed the exams while 1, 59,755 secured GPA 5.

In the case of the madrassah education board, 90,266 took the exams while 83,553 or 92.56 per cent passed and 9,423 secured the GPA 5.

Under the technical education board, out of a total of 1,17,783 examinees 1, 11,204 or 94.41 per cent passed and 7,104 secured GPA 5.

The number of securing GPA 5 also declined this year as, in 2021, total 1,89,169 students secured GPA 5.

This year the number the educational institutes with no passes increased significantly.

In 2022 the number of educational institutes with no passes is 50 which was 5 in 2021.

This year the number of educational institutes with 100 per cent pass rate has also decreased.

In 2022 the number of educational institutes with 100 per cent pass rate is 1,330 which was 1,934 in 2021.

The girls have again outshine the boys in this year’s results of the Higher Secondary School Certificate and equivalent examinations.

Prime minister Sheikh Hasina unveiled the results for 2022.

Releasing the results of 11 education boards after pressing button at her office in Dhaka in the morning, the prime minister extended her wholehearted gratitude to the education ministry and other concerned for holding examinations and publishing results timely.

Education minister Dipu Moni and deputy minister for education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury spoke at the function.

Earlier, the education minister handed over the summary of the combined results to the prime minister.

Later, the chairmen of 11 education boards – nine general boards, one madrasah education board and one technical education board – handed over their respective boards’ results to the premier

Secondary and Higher Education Division Secretary Suleman Khan conducted the result handover function.

Educational institutions can download the result sheets clicking the result corner in www.dhakaeducationboard.gov.bd website by using EIIN.

Results can also be downloaded from www.educationboardresults.gov.bd writing roll number and registration number.

Besides, students will be able to collect their result through sending SMS to 16222 and for this, they will need to write first HSC, board’s name (first three letters), roll number and year (for example: HSC Dha 123456 2022).

The HSC and equivalent examinations were held between November 6 and December 22 in 2022.

A total of 1,203,407 examinees appeared in the examinations.
